Vertical GS MW U expansion joint = identical principles as in S/CH (page 22). Requires custom expansion flashing + loosely packed mineral wool.

Critical installation aspects

  • Expansion flashing fixed on one side only to the “fixed” structure.
  • No rigid fasteners within a 50 cm zone from the expansion joint.
  • Loosely packed mineral wool — flexible under ±20 mm amplitude.
