termPIR® AL OSB
Product characteristics — termPIR® AL OSB
termPIR® AL OSB is a composite board combining a PIR core with gas-tight Al+paper facing (on the external side) and an 8–22 mm OSB board adhesively bonded on the inner side. The OSB acts as load-bearing sheathing — enabling direct fixing of battens, counter-battens, finish frameworks and other elements without a separate boarding layer. The combined acoustic performance of the composite is 25(-1,-3) dB.
Declared λD of PIR core = 0.022 W/(m·K); λ of OSB layer = 0.13 W/(m·K). The RD values in the table account for both layers. Format exclusively 1200×2500 mm; thickness range 20–160 mm.
Applications
- Pitched roofs over-rafter — insulation with ready sheathing for counter-battens and boarding; eliminates separate OSB installation step
- Pitched roofs under-rafter — under-rafter insulation with OSB as substrate for ceiling finish mounting
- Internal wall insulation (adhesive) — board bonded directly to masonry; OSB as ready substrate for framework and plasterboard
- Internal wall insulation (mechanical) — dowelling through OSB into substrate
Benefits for designers and contractors
- Eliminates separate OSB layer — one element replaces two: insulation + load-bearing sheathing
- Ready fixing substrate — battens and counter-battens attached directly to OSB
- 25 dB acoustic insulation — without additional sound-absorbing layers
- Gas-tight Al facing on the outside — PIR core protection and vapour barrier function
- Keymark + EPD Type III — documentation for tenders
- Format 1200×2500 mm — reduced number of joints on typical roof planes
