Product characteristics — termPIR® PRIME

termPIR® PRIME is an insulation board with a PIR core covered on both sides with a dark (dark grey/matt) 50 µm aluminium foil. The dark foil reduces light reflections on the construction site and better conceals site soiling — improving ergonomics on roof installations. Technical advantages over standard termPIR® AL: higher compressive strength (up to 150 kPa for thin thicknesses), higher vapour resistance (Sd = 1500 m vs. Al/paper/PE facing) and higher fire resistance REI 60 in pitched roof systems (vs. REI 30 for AL).

Declared λD = 0.022 W/(m·K) across the full range 20–250 mm. Full range of construction applications, including ventilated walls — not available in standard AL.

Applications

  • Pitched roofs — over-rafter and under-rafter; REI 60 without additional fire-resistant layers
  • Flat roofs, terraces — mechanical and adhesive fixing; high compressive strength σ10 under roof-mounted equipment
  • External walls — triple-layer, ETICS, ventilated (extended range vs. AL)
  • Basement and foundation walls — high Sd = 1500 m protects core from vapour migration
  • Floors, floor slabs, partition walls — full application range
  • Washable suspended ceilings — 50 µm Al foil withstands washing
  • Internal wall insulation — all fixing systems
