Product characteristics — termPIR® MAX 19 AL

termPIR® MAX 19 AL is an insulation board with a PIR core with a record-low declared thermal conductivity of λD = 0.019 W/(m·K) — the best thermal insulation class in the entire termPIR® range and one of the lowest values available in the construction insulation market. Protected on both sides by gas-tight Al+paper+PE facing. Dedicated to buildings where partition thickness is constrained and energy requirements are high: passive houses, low-energy buildings, renovations with enhanced energy standards.

At 100 mm the MAX 19 core achieves R = 5.45 m²K/W, at 160 mm R = 8.70 m²K/W — results unattainable with standard PIR boards at λ = 0.022.

Applications

  • Pitched roofs — over-rafter and under-rafter; smaller insulation thickness for the same R than AL
  • Flat roofs, terraces — mechanical fixing; meeting WT 2021 energy requirements at reduced layer thickness
  • External walls — triple-layer construction (cavity wall); space saving in the element
  • Basement and foundation walls — vapour-barrier Al/PE facing
  • Intermediate floor slabs — high R-value at minimum panel thickness
  • Floor on ground — high compressive strength
  • Passive and low-energy buildings — meeting energy requirements without increasing the building envelope

Technical note: the gas-tight Al/PE facing is not suitable for the ETICS system (dedicated product termPIR® ETX) nor for washable suspended ceilings (dedicated product termPIR® AGRO AL CEIL).

Benefits for designers and contractors

  • λD 0.019 — ~15% better than standard AL — same thermal resistance at ~15% less thickness
  • R = 5.45 m²K/W already at 100 mm — meeting roof energy regulations without going to 120 mm or thicker
  • Gas-tight Al/PE facing — built-in vapour barrier
  • Keymark + EPD Type III + LEED & BREEAM — full documentation for green projects
  • 3 edge profiles — FIT, LAP, TAG for various fixing methods
  • Thickness range 80–220 mm — for applications requiring thicker insulation

Certificates and approvals

  • CE — European quality mark
  • EN 13165+A2, EN 13172 — product standards
  • EPD Type III — Environmental Product Declaration
  • Keymark — independent CEN quality mark
  • PZH hygiene certificate — hygienic safety
  • LEED & BREEAM Green Card — qualification for environmental certification schemes
  • ITB fire tests — fire properties
  • DoP No. termPIR/MAX19/AL/3 (updated 31.01.2025)
