Product characteristics — termPIR® AL

termPIR® AL is an insulation board with a rigid polyisocyanurate foam (PIR) core of density 30 kg/m³, protected on both sides by a gas-tight composite facing of aluminium + paper + polyethylene (Al/PE). It is the most versatile variant in the termPIR® range — suitable as insulation for roofs, walls, floors and foundations in residential, multi-family, industrial and commercial construction.

The declared thermal conductivity λD = 0.022 W/(m·K) applies across the full thickness range of 20–250 mm — one of the best values available for general-purpose thermal insulation. The board is 2× thinner than mineral wool at the same thermal resistance.

Applications

  • Pitched roofs — over-rafter installation (single-family, multi-family) and under-rafter (single-family)
  • Flat roofs, flat roof slabs, terraces — mechanical or adhesive fixing; residential, commercial and industrial construction
  • External walls — triple-layer construction (cavity wall)
  • Basement and foundation walls — moisture resistance thanks to low water absorption
  • Intermediate floor slabs — thermal and acoustic insulation
  • Floor on ground — high compressive strength beneath screed

Technical note: the gas-tight aluminium facing of termPIR® AL is not suitable for the ETICS system (which requires gas permeability — dedicated product termPIR® ETX) nor for washable suspended ceilings (dedicated product termPIR® AGRO AL CEIL).
