Retail facility construction using insPIRe® sandwich panels
The project, located at 79 Węgierska Street in Nowy Sącz, involved the construction of a modern large-format electronics store with a usable floor area of 1,800 m² for an RTV/AGD electronics retail chain. A facility of this scale required a lightweight envelope system combining rapid installation, a high-quality architectural finish and thermal performance compliant with current WT 2021 requirements for commercial and service buildings.
Design challenge
The construction of a big-box store operating under a national retail brand entails a tight schedule and the need to maintain a consistent, representative façade appearance across all locations. The investor required a solution enabling express installation of the external wall envelope while guaranteeing durability, weather resistance and a modern architectural detail — with no visible mechanical fasteners on the façade face.
Applied solution — insPIRe® panels
The wall envelope was constructed using insPIRe® sandwich panels with a polyurethane PIR core, in the concealed-fix variant with two external facing profiles:
- L — Linear profiling,
- M — Micro-profiled profiling.
Combining the two sheet-pressing patterns produced a varied, dynamic façade composition that emphasises the architectural divisions of the building’s massing. The PIR core offers a low λD thermal conductivity coefficient, allowing relatively thin sandwich panels to meet stringent thermal insulation requirements for external walls. The panels also achieve a B-s2,d0 reaction-to-fire class, suitable for retail occupancy.
Final result
The use of insPIRe® concealed-fix sandwich panels enabled efficient installation of the entire external wall cladding across the 1,800 m² facility and produced a clean, uniform façade of a high visual standard — typical of modern big-box retail formats. The project was delivered with technical support from BOKKA, regional distributor covering southern Poland.
