insPIRe® U wall — hidden fix (smooth façade)

When to use this system

The insPIRe® U panel with hidden fix is the choice when façade aesthetics matter to the design:

  • Office units built into halls — office on the front + production hall at the rear. The front aesthetically articulated, the hall with cheaper S panel.
  • Car showrooms and exhibition spaces — where the façade sells, a smooth surface with no visible fastener heads.
  • New-generation big-box retail — where the façade has to look “lifestyle”, not “warehouse”.
  • Public utility buildings — libraries, offices, schools, where “architectural” façades are specified.

Hidden fix mechanism

Variants

  • insPIRe® U — core λ 0.022 W/(m·K), standard.
  • insPIRe® U MAX — λ reduced to 0.019 (PIR-MAX). U = 0.14 W/m²·K at 140 mm.

Installation requirements

  • Modular width 1000 mm — no 1140 mm variant for U (geometric limitation of the joint).
  • Lengths 2.0–16.0 m (max limited by transport).
  • Hidden fasteners — typically length = panel thickness + 50 mm anchorage in the steel structure.
  • Installation sequence: lower joint precisely engaged into the upper joint of the previous panel → seating → screwing the fastener through the concealed lap.

Required flashings

The cladding system uses a set of flashings matched to the smooth façade:

  • OB-01 / OB-02 — external / internal corner (preferred variants concealing fasteners: OB-03/OB-04)
  • OB-17 — covering the longitudinal panel joint
  • OB-36 — panel closure
  • OB-37 — window sill
