Function of the junction

Vertical U expansion joint = analogous to S (p. 21). Required for buildings >60–80 m.

Critical installation aspects

  • One-sided fastening.
  • No rigid fasteners within 50 cm of the expansion joint.
  • Free-floating insulation.
