Sandwich panels in industrial and warehouse facilities
Industrial facilities — typical applications of sandwich panels
Industrial halls, warehouses, production and logistics facilities are the primary application area for Gór-Stal PIR-core sandwich panels. Lightweight cladding made of sandwich panels shortens project completion time, reduces construction costs and provides excellent insulating performance of the partition with minimal thickness and self-weight.
External and internal partition walls
Dedicated panels for industrial hall wall cladding:
- GS insPIRe® S (Standard fastener) — wall panel available in thicknesses of 40, 60, 80, 100 and 120 mm, modular width 1000 or 1140 mm. Used as an external curtain wall and as an internal partition wall in a vertical or horizontal layout. Visible fastening with self-drilling screws.
- GS insPIRe® U (Hidden fastener) — wall panel with a fastening system that is invisible from the façade side, available in thicknesses of 60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 mm, modular width 1000 mm. An architecturally preferred solution, eliminating thermal bridges at the fastener location.
Both systems can work as single- and multi-span elements, mounted vertically or horizontally to the steel or reinforced concrete frame structure of the hall.
Industrial hall roofs
For roof coverings of industrial facilities, the GS PIR D panel (Roof fastener) is intended, with a deeply profiled external trapezoidal facing. Available in thickness combinations: 40/80, 60/100, 80/120, 100/140, 120/160, 150/190 and 160/200 mm. Modular width 1000 mm, maximum length 16.5 m. Minimum roof slope: 3° (5.2%) without skylights and 5° (8.7%) for roofing made of panels joined along the length.

Design and construction benefits
- Speed of installation — sandwich panels are ready-to-install elements; they do not require additional layers of insulation, waterproofing or internal finishing.
- Operation in difficult weather conditions — installation possible all year round, regardless of ambient temperature.
- Wide range of profiling and colours — external facings available in L (linear), M (microprofiled), F (wavy), R (grooved), T (trapezoidal) and P (flat) profiles in standard RAL colours, including RAL 9002, 9006, 9010, 9007, 7016 and others.
- Joint tightness — factory-applied PUS polyurethane gasket ensures durable tightness of joints between panels.
- Hygiene approval — hygiene certificate enables use in service, retail and industrial facilities.
- Corrosion resistance — panels can be used in environments with atmospheric corrosion categories C1, C2 and C3 according to EN ISO 12944-2; coatings dedicated to C4 and C5 environments are available on request.
Typical details and system solutions
Wall panel installation detail — corner with flashing
The Gór-Stal technical catalogue defines ready-made installation details for industrial halls:
- panel fastening at the sill beam (variant with plinth insulation d = 20–100 mm),
- panel connection at straight corners and at any angle,
- post and lintel details for an industrial roller door,
- window installation in a sandwich panel (variant I with bracket and fastener, variant II with mounting profile),
- building structure expansion joint detail,
- connection to a reinforced concrete or masonry wall,
- gable ridge, eaves, parapet, roof skylight.
The system is supplied with sheet metal flashings (over 40 types from catalogue OB-01 to OB-42), system fasteners (self-drilling screws 5.5/6.4 × 65–260 mm selected for the panel thickness and the structure), PES, PURS and butyl gaskets as well as installation accessories.
Key technical requirements
- WT 2021 — walls: U ≤ 0.20 W/m²K (t ≥ 16°C) → min. thickness 120 mm PIR or 100 mm PIR MAX
- WT 2021 — roof: U ≤ 0.15 W/m²K (t ≥ 16°C) → min. thickness 150/190 mm PIR or 120/160 mm PIR MAX
- Reaction to fire min. B-s1,d0 for walls (NRO)
- Reaction to fire BROOF(t1,t2,t3) for roof covering
- Corrosion categories C1–C3 as standard; C4/C5 on request
- Minimum roof slope 3° (5.2%) without skylights
Typical layouts and projects
- Warehouse hall with GS insPIRe® S 100 mm wall cladding in horizontal layout and GS PIR D 100/140 mm roof
