When to use this system

The insPIRe® D panel is a self-supporting roof cladding used when we want to eliminate intermediate structural layers (purlins, boards) and replace the entire roof with one multi-functional element:

  • Industrial halls and warehouses — long spans (up to 6 m between purlins), fast installation.
  • Large-format retail facilities — supermarkets, discount stores, DIY centres — where construction time matters.
  • Logistics and distribution centres — roof coverings with a slope of 3–5° (5.2–8.7%) without skylights.
  • Renovations of old hall roofs — when the existing ceiling cannot accept additional load (the panel = covering + insulation + ceiling in one).

Geometry and load capacity

  • External profile: trapezoidal (T), wave height ~38 mm — provides load capacity and water runoff.
  • Internal facing profiles: linear (L) or flat (P) — an aesthetic choice for the hall ceiling.
  • Modular width: 1000 mm (across the working edges of the panel).
  • Panel length: 2.0–14.0 m (maximum limited by transport).
  • Roof pitch: min. 3° (5.2%) without skylights in the covering; min. 5° (8.7%) for panels joined along the length (with sealing tapes at the transverse joint).

Fastening

Each panel is fastened with 2 fasteners across the width in each span (to a steel or timber purlin). In roof edge zones (corners, ridge, eaves) — +2–4 fasteners/m².

Fire classification

The system meets a dual classification:

  • B-s1,d0 acc. to PN-EN 13501-1 — reaction to fire (covering side)
  • B_ROOF(t1, t2, t3) acc. to PN-EN 13501-5 — performance under external fire exposure (e.g. embers from a neighbouring fire, burning fragments of roofing felt)

Coverings with a B_ROOF certificate are required for roofs of facilities listed in § 207 sec. 4 of the regulation on technical conditions — including public utility buildings and warehouses.

Required sheet metal flashings

  • OB-22 / OB-23 — upper / lower ridge flashing
  • OB-25 — under-gutter C-channel
  • OB-31 — roof gable flashing
  • OB-33 — gutter eaves flashing

Accessories

  • Sandwich panel fasteners (to purlins) — typically 6×130 mm for a 100 mm panel
  • Aluminium tape + PES gasket — sealing of transverse joints

Technical documentation

The system is described in the Gór-Stal Technical Catalogue 2025 (pp. 82–87). It holds CE marking acc. to EN 14509:2013, B-s1,d0 and B_ROOF(t1,t2,t3) classification, and a PZH hygienic certificate.
