Eaves with gutter — Variant I — insPIRe® D sandwich panel

Eaves detail along the roof slope with water drainage to gutter. Variant I with OB-26 sub-gutter Z-flashing — compact solution with factory-trimmed panel edge.

Eaves with gutter — Variant I — insPIRe® D sandwich panel

Junction function

Eaves with gutter drainage is the most common detail in industrial halls and warehouses — a complete solution for rainwater drainage from a sandwich panel roof. Three functions in parallel:

  • Water drainage — water running off the roof slope flows into the gutter via the OB-26 sub-gutter Z-flashing.
  • Snow safety — the OB-27 barrier prevents snow avalanches at the eaves (fire-safety requirement for retail and office buildings with a walkway under the eaves).
  • Panel edge finishing — the factory-trimmed roof edge (item 01) eliminates exposure of the PIR core.

Variant I is chosen for warehouse halls where aesthetics are secondary. Variant II for retail buildings and offices with greater visibility.

Critical installation aspects

  • Factory-trimmed panel edge (item 01) — requires ordering the panel with the “eaves edge” option on the spec sheet. Non-standard = production lead time longer by 2-3 weeks.
  • OB-26 Z-flashing — Z-shaped geometry fastened to the roof panel + shielding the gutter inlet. Transverse joints of OB-26 (between linear metres) sealed with butyl compound (item 14) — unsealed joints will leak.
  • OB-27 snow guard — installed 20-30 cm above the gutter, every 3-4 linear metres in the wind exposure zone. Mandatory for buildings >12 m in height.
  • Gutter — design according to drainage area (typically Ø150 mm for 100 m² of roof slope).
  • Roof edge zone — self-drilling fasteners at double density (item 09, 6 pcs/m² instead of 3 in the interior zone) — protection against wind suction forces.
