Year-round Modular House — Project with insPIRe® Panels

The featured project is a contemporary year-round modular house built with a lightweight envelope based on PIR sandwich panels. Modular construction calls for solutions that combine low self-weight with excellent thermal performance — and insPIRe® panels with a polyurethane core fulfil exactly that role.

Design Challenge

Modular construction places specific demands on cladding materials: minimum partition thickness while maintaining a U-value compliant with the Polish WT 2021 technical requirements (U ≤ 0.20 W/m²K for residential walls), repeatability in prefabrication and a finished façade aesthetic delivered straight from the factory, with no need for additional finishing layers. Short on-site assembly times and the transport of completed modules from the production hall also demand high dimensional stability of the panels, along with a reaction-to-fire classification suitable for residential use.

Product Applied

The investment used insPIRe® S wall panels with a thickness of 100 mm and a modular width of 1140 mm. The PIR core delivers a very low thermal conductivity coefficient λD, which — at a moderate partition thickness — allows compliance with current insulation requirements for year-round buildings while keeping façade build-up slim.

Two external facing profiles were applied:

  • L — linear,
  • M — micro-ribbed.

The full envelope was produced in RAL 7016 (anthracite), with sheet-metal flashings selected in RAL 7016 and RAL 9002 shades, providing a coherent, contrasting façade detail.

Result

The combination of the insPIRe® S sandwich panel with its PIR core and the anthracite finish delivered an aesthetic, energy-efficient envelope for the modular house, while maintaining fast prefabricated assembly — coordinated through BOKKA’s regional distribution across southern Poland — and full compliance with the requirements for year-round residential buildings.
