Junction function
Cold store corner variant I = a specific detail for refrigerated rooms. Removing the facing of one of the panels in the corner zone provides:
- Improved airtightness — PUR foam fills the PIR core of the adjacent panel without an air gap.
- Reduced thermal bridge — standard S corners with facings on both sides create a thermal “channel” through the steel facing.
Construction:
- Removed facing of one panel (typically the one on the cold store side).
- PVC corner profile (item 03) provides thermal insulation on the cold side.
- Masking flashing (item 02) finishes the corridor side aesthetically.
- PUR foam + plastic sealant ensure tightness.
Critical installation aspects
- Facing removal — use a diamond saw + router; take care not to damage the PIR core.
- PVC profile (PVC lambda ≈ 0.17 W/m·K) — cools down slowly, eliminates condensation in the corner.
- Stainless fasteners (item 07) with EPDM gasket — critical for cold stores.
- Plastic sealant on both sides of the corner.
