Junction function
Corner at any angle = variant of the 90° corner (p. 19) for non-standard geometries:
- Obtuse angle (>90°) — “octagonal” halls, warehouses with a logistics chamfer, halls with office rotundas.
- Acute angle (<90°) — rare, typically in halls with aerodynamic styling or in annexes adopting an irregular plot shape.
Geometry identical to the 90° variant, but corner flashings OB-02/OB-03 are manufactured to a specific angle according to the architectural design.
Critical installation aspects
- Special-order flashings — OB-02 and OB-03 for angles other than 90° must be ordered before panel production; the catalogue standard covers 90° only.
- On-site angle measurement — before ordering the flashings, verify the building geometry in the shell state; steel structure tolerance may give +/- 2° vs design → angled flashings won’t fit.
- Greater flashing width — for acute angles (<90°) flashing OB-03 may require a width of 400-500 mm (vs standard 250-300); increased mass + wind pressure.
- Mineral wool in the corner — compression increases for acute angles (smaller corner envelope); it is recommended to prepare wool pieces on site instead of inserting standard slabs.
- Wind edge zone — for acute angles (<90°) the fastener densification zone extends to 4 m from the corner instead of 3 m (increased wind suction per PN-EN 1991-1-4 for sharp geometries).
Occurs in specialist hall projects — e.g. industrial parks with expressive architecture.
