Junction function
Door lintel in horizontal layout = top edge of the door opening. Structure:
- Steel rail (item 02) = horizontal structural beam above the door opening; transfers loads from panels above + door pressure.
- Roller door (item 03) — the roller coils up in a housing above the lintel (typically a 30–50 cm strip).
- OB-10 + OB-13 drip flashings (items 04, 05) — drain off rainwater; OB-13 has a 30 mm drip edge.
- OB-20 trim (item 06) conceals the joint between the panel and the rail.
- Custom flashing (item 07) matched to the side guide rails of the door.
Vs vertical layout: the same structure, but panels meet the lintel from above on their shorter edge instead of the full panel height.
Critical installation aspects
- Roller door housing (where the door coils up) is not insulated = thermal bridge 20–50 cm strip above the door; solution: additional strip of mineral wool between the housing and the panel.
- OB-13 drip flashing with 30 mm drip edge; 200 mm EPDM strip beneath the flashing.
- OB-20 trim fastened with rivets to the rail + panel; sealed with neutral silicone (item 13).
- Custom flashing (item 07) matched to the door guide rails — on both sides, connecting the lintel with the door jamb (p. 37).
- On-site insulation (item 08) with mineral wool in a 100–200 mm strip around the entire lintel.
