Junction function
Vertical GS MW S/CH door lintel = the upper interface of sandwich panels with the door opening when panels are oriented vertically with visible fixings (S) or in the cold storage version (CH). The configuration is analogous to the vertical GS MW U variant but with exposed fasteners and an additional OB-10 drip flashing protecting the lintel zone.
Critical installation aspects
- Two drip flashing zones: OB-10 directly above the door (protects against water cascading down onto the door), OB-13 along the full length of the lintel panel (30 mm drip edge, 200 mm EPDM tape).
- OB-20 cover trim + custom trim — fixed with 4.0×8.0 rivets and sealed with neutral silicone.
- Mineral wool strip fills the gap between the door and the structural rail (thermal bridge).
- Visible self-drilling fasteners in the panels — in contrast to the U variant; in the lintel zone spaced every 600 mm vertically.
- Cold storage version (CH): additional EPDM gasket between the door and panels for vapour tightness (air tightness class 2).
