Junction function
End support (terminal column) = the point where a horizontally laid panel terminates at a structural column. The vertical joint between the panel and the column edge is concealed by the OB-17 cover flashing.
Vs intermediate support (p. 34, where the panel passes across the column continuing further along the hall) — the end support terminates the wall (e.g. at an entrance gate, at the gable wall of the hall).
Critical installation aspects
- 20 mm gap between the panel edge and the column — required for thermal movement and installation tolerance.
- OB-17 flashing approx. 60-100 mm wide; fixed with rivets to the panel and to the column.
- Mineral wool (item 05) in the 20 mm gap — eliminates the thermal bridge at the column.
- PES gasket (item 04) continued along the entire vertical edge of the panel.
- Panel fasteners (item 06) densified within the 30 cm edge zone — structurally loaded edge zone.
