Partition wall to exterior wall connection — cold room

T-shaped junction connecting the partition wall to the exterior wall in a cold room (t > 0°C). Partition wall facing **removed** in the joint zone for improved tightness and thermal bridge elimination.

Partition wall to exterior wall connection — cold room

Junction function

T-junction partition + exterior wall = separating cold-storage chambers within a larger hall. Typical arrangements:

  • Cold-storage chamber + freezer chamber + working corridor — 3 temperature zones inside one hall.
  • Sorting room + cold room — separate rooms with different temperatures.

Construction:

  1. Continuous exterior wall (item 01) without interruption.
  2. Partition wall abuts the exterior wall; facing in the joint zone is removed.
  3. PVC corner profile provides thermal insulation.
  4. PUR foam + plastic sealant seals the perimeter.

Critical installation aspects

  • Facing removal within 0.5×D of the corner.
  • PVC profile prevents thermal bridging at the T-junction.
  • Stainless fastener with EPDM gasket.
  • Plastic sealing compound on both sides.
