Protective profiles for CH wall panel (plinth)

Plinth zone of a cold storage wall with **PVC profiles** protecting the lower part of the panel against mechanical damage (forklifts, pallets, equipment). Bumper strip + floor skirting = standard for all cold storage facilities.

Protective profiles for CH wall panel (plinth)

Junction function

Protective profiles = standard component of cold storage facilities with forklift traffic. Without them, lower panels get destroyed within 6-12 months of operation.

Functionally:

  • PVC floor skirting (item 03) — seals the panel-to-floor junction + protects against water used for floor washing.
  • PVC bumper strip (item 04) — typically 30-50 cm high; protects against direct impacts from forklifts.

Critical installation aspects

  • PVC vs metal — PVC is thermally insulating (does not create a thermal bridge), flexible under impact (does not dent).
  • Plastic compound seals the strip-to-panel junction.
  • Bumper strip height = standard 40-50 cm; for halls with heavy equipment 60-80 cm.
  • Stainless fasteners with EPDM gasket.
