Junction function
GS PIR D roof panel fastening = fastening to the steel purlin (not to the rail as in walls). The purlin = horizontal structural beam on the roof, perpendicular to the slope.
Features:
- Min. 2 fasteners per panel = minimum for typical roofs (purlin spacing up to 3.5 m).
- Edge zone (3 m from corner) 3+ fasteners for wind pressure/suction.
- Cap washer = special steel washer resistant to condensation (protects the head from corrosion).
Critical installation aspects
- Fasteners through the trapezoid crown (highest point of the profile), NOT through the lower trough (water condensation).
- Cap washer between head and panel seals the penetration; EPDM gasket under the head.
- Tightening torque 8–12 Nm — overtightening will deform the cap washer.
- Inspection after the first winter — check for any point leaks at the heads.
