Junction function
Window in horizontal layout — vertical section = analogous composition to the vertical layout (p. 25): drip flashings above the window, sill below the window. Critical aspects identical.
Geometric difference:
- Horizontal panels reach the upper and lower window frame with their shorter edge.
- Panels are pre-cut earlier in production (length = wall width) — the window is at a specific height in the production schedule.
- Panel module spacing means the window is in a “row” in the horizontal layout (a row of windows typically all at the same height).
The flashing composition is identical to the vertical layout — see that detail for installation specifics.
Critical installation aspects
- OB-10 + OB-13 above the window — drip flashings with 30 mm drip edge.
- OB-37 sill with 5% slope, EPDM 200 mm beneath the sill.
- OB-16 stiffener for acoustic performance of the internal sill.
- Neutral silicone around the window perimeter + at flashing joints.
- Edge zone — panel fasteners densified within a 30 cm strip around the window.
