Sandwich panel production hall in Małopolska
Completed in 2018, this project covered the full lightweight envelope of a production hall located in the Małopolska region of southern Poland. The facility was designed as a modern industrial building, where the structural concept called for a proven sandwich panel system — covering both the external walls and the entire roof pitch. BOKKA, as the regional distributor serving Małopolska, Podkarpacie and adjacent voivodeships, supplied the complete panel package and coordinated technical support during installation.
Design challenge
The investor’s requirements included rapid envelope assembly, achieving thermal performance compliant with the WT requirements applicable at the time (U ≤ 0.23 W/m²K for walls and U ≤ 0.18 W/m²K for roofs), and a consistent exterior colour scheme. The structure required lightweight sandwich panels with a polyurethane core, offering a low thermal transmittance coefficient at relatively modest thicknesses while significantly reducing construction time compared with traditional masonry technologies.
Solution applied
The external walls were clad with GORLICKA U GS-PIR sandwich panels with a polyurethane core, while the roof was finished with GORLICKA D GS-PIR panels installed on the steel purlin grid using concealed fasteners. Both products are based on PIR technology, characterised by a low thermal conductivity coefficient λD, fire class B-s2,d0 and excellent dimensional stability. The exterior cladding palette — RAL 9006 (white aluminium) on the walls combined with RAL 3000 (flame red) accents — gave the building a distinctive, industrial character.
Final result
The hall was commissioned in 2018 with a complete, airtight thermal envelope. The use of a PIR-core sandwich composite shortened the installation schedule and delivered high energy efficiency for the production facility. The project confirms the effectiveness of PIR sandwich panel systems in medium-scale industrial buildings.
