Warehouse hall built with GORLICKA sandwich panels — case study | BOKKA
Warehouse hall — sandwich panel case study
The scope of this project covered a warehouse hall erected using lightweight envelope technology based on sandwich panels with a PIR core. The building is a representative example of modern industrial warehousing architecture, where the priorities are short installation time, high energy efficiency, and a clean, restrained façade aesthetic. BOKKA, as the regional distributor in southern Poland, supplied the complete panel package along with technical advisory throughout the design and procurement stages.
Technical challenge
The investor required a solution meeting the WT 2021 requirements for the thermal transmittance (U-value) of external partitions in a warehouse facility, while maintaining a uniform colour scheme across walls and roof and compressing the cladding works schedule. The selected sandwich system had to combine the thermal performance of a PIR core with high panel rigidity, reaction-to-fire class B-s2,d0, and an aesthetic finish on the visible face.
Solution applied
The project was delivered using the insPIRe® Gór-Stal system:
- Wall sandwich panels with a PIR core, 100 mm thick
- Roof sandwich panels with a PIR core, 100 mm thick
- Cladding colour: RAL 9006 (white aluminium)
The PIR polyurethane core in insPIRe® panels offers a very low thermal conductivity coefficient, so a 100 mm thickness is sufficient to achieve the thermal parameters required for modern warehouse halls. The consistent RAL 9006 finish across the walls and roof slope produces a visually coherent volume.
End result
The warehouse hall was completed using the dry-assembly method for sandwich panels, significantly shortening the envelope erection time compared with traditional construction. The use of PIR polyurethane insulation within the insPIRe® system translates into low heating demand and durable, long-term thermal performance of the partitions, with sealed joints minimising thermal bridging.
