Floor-level installation — horizontal layout of GS MW S/CH panels

Junction function

Fixing horizontal panels to the floor slab = alternative to a plinth with sill beam (p. 27-30). Used when:

• Hall with floor at ground level — no protruding sill beam.
• Budget construction — without costly OB-14/15 plinth flashing.
• Hall inside a larger enclosure — e.g. an internal warehouse within a main hall.

Construction is simpler than at the plinth — no OB-13/14/15 drip flashing, no OB-42 channel profile. Just:

1. Concrete floor slab (at the internal hall floor level).
2. Structural columns (item 02) in steel.
3. Horizontal panels (item 01) rest with their bottom edge on the slab with a PES gasket (item 05).
4. OB-06 corner flashing (item 03) finishes the bottom edge from the inside.

Critical installation aspects

• Direct panel-to-slab contact = risk of capillary moisture rise into the mineral wool insulation layer; requires slab waterproofing (5 mm SBS bituminous membrane) extending under the panel with a 10 cm overlap.
• Mineral wool (item 06) in the space between panel and structural column — eliminates the thermal bridge at the column.
• Expansion anchors (item 09) fixing the bottom flashing to the slab — every 60 cm in the middle zone, every 40 cm in the edge zone.
• OB-06 corner flashing mounted inside the hall; the external side has only the panel-to-slab contact + silicone sealant.
• Not recommended for uncovered halls — without a drip flashing, rainwater is directed “into the hall” instead of “away from the hall”; only for internal halls within a larger enclosure or where the slab is raised at least 15 cm above the surrounding terrain.
