Roof to RC wall junction (along the slope)

Detail of GS PIR D roof panel junction with a masonry or reinforced concrete fire wall along the slope of the roof. Standard solution for halls with full-height RC parapets (fire protection).

Roof to RC wall junction (along the slope)

Junction function

Junction of a GS PIR D sandwich panel roof with a reinforced concrete or masonry wall along the slope — a typical detail for halls with a full-height RC parapet preventing fire spread between segments.

Unlike a classic parapet (where the parapet is part of the panel structure), here the RC wall is an independent structure — it extends above the roof or runs parallel to the roof edge.

The set of four flashings (OB-28, OB-30, OB-12, OB-07) creates a three-layer seal:

  • OB-30 slope flashing (item 06) — horizontal flashing on the panel on the wall side.
  • OB-28 profiled flashing (item 05) — vertical flashing fixed to the wall.
  • OB-12 drip flashing (item 07) — lower water-draining element.
  • OB-07 internal corner (item 08) — closes the angle between the wall and the roof plane.

Critical installation aspects

  • OB-30 + PES gasket (items 06, 09) on the surface of the roof panel. Strip min. 200 mm wide.
  • OB-28 (item 05) fixed to the RC wall with expansion anchors (item 14) every 250 mm. It does NOT touch the roof plane — a ~10 mm gap is filled with butyl (item 11).
  • PU foam (item 10) fills the gap between OB-28 and the roof plane — low-expansion type, expansion ≤ 30%.
  • OB-12 drip flashing (item 07) at the bottom — bent with a 30 mm drip edge, fixed to OB-30.
  • OB-07 internal corner (item 08) — connects OB-30 with OB-28 at the corner, with a 100 mm overlap under both.
  • Sandwich panel fasteners (item 12) at double density in a 50 cm strip from the wall — wind suction forces at the lateral roof edge are higher.
