Junction function
Side eaves are a roof edge transverse to the slope — the meeting point between the roof pitch (insPIRe® D) and the gable wall (insPIRe® U). The junction must:
- Seal the lateral edge of the roof panel — without this, water and wind can penetrate the panel’s trapezoidal profile.
- Provide thermal insulation continuity between roof and gable wall (no thermal bridge at the corner).
- Aesthetic eaves line — a clean line without visible fasteners or transverse gaps.
Solution: two-stage flashing — OB-24 conceals the lateral edge of the roof panel, OB-02 closes the corner between roof and wall.
Critical installation aspects
- Roof panel overhang maximum 350 mm beyond the gable wall line. A larger overhang requires additional support (edge purlin) — without it, the panel risks deflection under snow load.
- OB-24 is fixed with washer-head fasteners (item 11) every 250–300 mm along the edge.
- OB-02 (internal corner) — requires a PES sealing tape (item 06) between panels and flashing, eliminating air flow.
- PU assembly foam fills the internal corner cavity (item 07), providing continuous 3D thermal insulation.
- Right side vs left side — OB-24 flashing geometry is mirrored; specify the side when ordering (R/L marking on the technical data sheet).
Used in the insPIRe® D multi-span pitched roof system.
