Sandwich panels and PIR boards in Kraków — collection, delivery, lead times
Tuesday, a quarter past seven. The phone rings from a site near Kraków: “I’m building a shelter, I need sandwich panels. Can I drive over this afternoon and take some?”
The answer is honest and twofold. For sandwich panels — no, and in a moment we will explain why. For PIR boards — very often yes, provided you make that call in the morning rather than on the way to the warehouse.
That single conversation contains essentially this whole article. Because the word “panels” describes two completely different purchases, with two different sets of logistics — and most of the misunderstandings between a merchant and a site come from confusing one with the other.
“Panels” means two different purchases, not one
Rigid PIR insulation boards — in our range the termPIR® line — are stiff thermal insulation boards. A polyisocyanurate foam core with a density of 30 kg/m³, facings of aluminised paper, glass veil, plasterboard or OSB, λD at the level of 0.022 W/(m·K). They go on a roof, a wall, a floor, a foundation. They are sold by the square metre, in full factory packs, in the 1.2 × 2.4 m or 0.6 × 1.2 m format.
Sandwich panels — GS insPIRe with a PIR core and GS MW with mineral wool — are something else. Steel facings, a self-supporting element that acts as the structure of the building envelope in its own right. They are made to size: a modular width — 1000 mm with us — and whatever length you order. In the shop the configurator accepts 2.0 to 12.0 m, and not because longer ones cannot be made, but because that is the length of the trailer we carry them on.
Which product suits what we took apart in the comparison of a 1000 m² hall: termPIR or sandwich panels. Here we are interested in something else: how each of them reaches you.
| Rigid PIR insulation boards (termPIR®) | Sandwich panels (GS insPIRe, GS MW) | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | 1.2 × 2.4 m or 0.6 × 1.2 m | 1000 mm module × length to order |
| How it is bought | in full packs, settled per m² | cut to size, settled per m² |
| Availability | popular thicknesses from stock | made to order |
| Collection in person | realistic — even in a van with a long load bay | only with a suitable outfit |
| Unloading | by hand in small quantities | forklift, loader or crane — the buyer’s side |
What is in Wola Batorska and what is yet to be made
BOKKA’s warehouse, production and over-the-counter sales share one address: Wola Batorska 461, 32-007 Zabierzów Bocheński, on the eastern side of Kraków. That is where we issue goods from and where transport sets off. The office and the Customer Service department — orders, documents, invoices — work in Kraków at ul. Krzywda 12A.
What sits in the warehouse is above all the popular thicknesses of PIR board. That is the part of the range where “off the shelf” really does mean off the shelf: you arrive and take it away. The more unusual the thickness or the facing, the greater the chance the goods have to be brought in from the manufacturer.
With sandwich panels it is the other way round, and it is worth saying plainly: first grade is always made to order. There is no warehouse full of ready 8-metre wall panels in your colour, because nobody keeps such a warehouse — it is a product cut to size. The production lead time is shown on the page of the specific variant in the shop, and it differs between lines.
The exception is the outlet with second-grade panels — there we sell exactly what is physically on the yard today: end-of-run material in non-standard lengths, by the single panel, with no rounding up to a full pack. Zero stock means “sold out”, not “available to order”. If a dimension on the second-grade list happens to suit you, the wait drops to nothing.
Collection in person: five things to settle before you get in the car
Collection in Wola Batorska is free of charge, and the warehouse works Monday to Friday, 7:00–15:00. The rest is logistics, easily dealt with in one phone call or one order placed the day before:
- What exactly — variant, thickness, facing, edge profile. “A hundred-mil PIR board” is not enough to prepare anything.
- How much — in square metres and in packs. We issue PIR boards in full factory packs; how many that works out at for your roof you can calculate using the instructions with the calculator.
- What you are coming in — a 1.2 × 2.4 m board will not go into an estate car. Into a van with a long load bay, or onto a trailer — it will. Weight is not the problem: at a density of 30 kg/m³, a square metre of 100 mm board weighs about 3 kg. The problem is the size.
- Who loads and what you strap it down with — straps, a tarpaulin, somebody to help with the longer elements.
- When — the collection time is confirmed by your account manager. That is not bureaucracy but the difference between goods packed ready for you and waiting around on the yard.
Which is why “I’ll drive over and take some” works less well than “I’ll order today and collect tomorrow”. In the second case somebody has had time to check the stock, prepare the packs and issue the documents.
Delivery in Małopolska and beyond — and the one thing that surprises people on site
We deliver throughout Poland, with our own transport, dispatched from the warehouse near Kraków. The cost is worked out from the postcode and the size of the order — after all, the number of boards decides what vehicle has to be sent — and you see the gross amount in the summary before you confirm the purchase. When an order does not fit into a single vehicle, or the address falls outside the price list, the system says so and points you to biuro@bokka.pl. The driver rings before arrival. Deliveries outside Poland we quote individually.
And now the thing that has to be written plainly, because it is the commonest surprise on a site: we do not have a lorry-mounted crane. The vehicle arrives with no crane, no tail lift and no forklift. Unloading is the buyer’s responsibility.
With two packs of PIR board that is no problem at all — two people will lift them off. With sandwich panels it is an altogether different conversation. A bundle of eight-metre wall panels is lifted off with a forklift truck of adequate capacity, a telehandler or a crane, and the panels are set down on level, supported ground — not on two pallets in the mud. On top of that comes access: the trailer has to physically get in, turn round and stand where the equipment can reach it.
Settle that on the day you order, not on the day of delivery. In autumn there is one more factor — a softened yard can stop a heavy lorry more effectively than frost.
The online shop: since 10 September you buy boards like any other goods
Since 10 September 2026 our online shop has been running, and for repeat orders it is simply the fastest route. You see gross prices per square metre, you see availability pulled straight from the warehouse system and refreshed every few minutes, and at the checkout you choose: delivery to a given address or collection in Wola Batorska. The shop runs in Polish.
A few things worth knowing before you click:
- PIR boards are sold in full factory packs — an incomplete pack shows as unavailable, not as “the last one left”.
- The cost of transport is worked out from the postcode and you know it before you place the order.
- You pay by card, by BLIK, through Przelewy24 or by ordinary bank transfer (14-day term, fulfilled once the money is credited).
- You can place an order without registering; for a company the VAT number is enough, and we will invoice to the details held in the register.
- Accessories ordered together with the boards travel on the same vehicle, with no extra courier charge.
The shop handles the “I know what I want” situation superbly. When the order is out of the ordinary — an unusual sandwich panel length, several vehicles, difficult access, choosing a thickness for a specific building element — a conversation with an advisor will be quicker and cheaper than a fight with a shopping basket.
September and October change two things
The first is queues at the contractors. After the season, good installation crews free up dates, but that state of affairs does not last — from October everyone wants to close their building in before winter. Whoever sets a programme in September usually chooses their contractor; whoever does it in November usually takes the one who happens to be free.
The second is the availability of unusual items. Popular thicknesses of PIR board leave fastest in autumn, and unusual colours and lengths of sandwich panel join the production queue along with the orders of everybody else who had the same thought. The rule is simple and thankless: the more unusual the item, the earlier it has to be pinned down.
If you are only now working out the order of operations for a hall, the whole sequence — from foundations to envelope — is in the guide to a sandwich panel hall. Here one point is enough: ordering the material comes earlier in the calendar than intuition suggests.
What a shopping basket will not do: selection and documents
Ordering a board is easy. It is harder to get the thickness, the edge profile and the detail right where the envelope breaks — at an eaves, a plinth, a reveal. That is a conversation of a few minutes with a technical advisor and a few weeks saved on site. The Małopolska, Podkarpacie, Lublin and Świętokrzyskie regions have their own account manager; the details are on the contact page.
While we are at it, two things easily forgotten when ordering boards alone. The first: accessories. Screws of the right length, tapes, seals, flashings — what fits what we gathered in the review of accessories and fixings for sandwich panels. The second: documents. With every order we issue a declaration of performance, and for products covered by a European Technical Assessment — a reference to the ETA as well. How to read them and what to look for in such a paper we explain in the piece on the DoP, the ETA and AVCP certificates. The site inspector will ask, and you will have it.
How to arrange it so as not to lose a week
Three sentences to take away. PIR boards in popular thicknesses can be bought quickly and collected yourself — it is enough to order the day before and arrive in something a 2.4 m board will fit into. Sandwich panels are ordered in advance, because they are made to size, and their delivery needs access and your equipment for unloading. Everything else — price, lead time, transport — can be checked in a few minutes, online or over the phone.
